One of the noticeable things that call center offices are doing is polishing its overall look. That is meant, of course to show good ‘first’ impression to clients and applicants alike.

Some call center offices can be so modern looking that they only have glass tiles coupled with modern interiors, while there are some offices that poses as a relaxing area for your second home.

How much time do you have in your hands?

I just asked that question because I know that people get to move faster nowadays, they want to have everything in their hands, in the soonest time possible.

And this is the same thing when it goes to shopping. If you find it hard to get your favorite goodies because of heavy traffic and crowded malls, then you might want to try online shopping instead, just like looking in Classified Ads Manila to start your online shopping.

There are so many things that you can buy from Manila Online Classified Ads. You can buy your health and beauty supplies like make up, cologne, perfume, even hair dryer and hair perm gadgets. Aside from that you can also buy your favorite DVD and get some discounts especially for some pre-loved items. What’s cool is that you can even scout and compare from small gadgets to cars, even bahay, would you believe? That’s how powerful online selling is.

I just remembered how my Dad and I scouted and compared cars last year. We searched via OLX and called some car owners from OLX after coming up with a shortlist of leads. After casual talks over the phone, we headed to their car shops and public showroom places to really check the merchandise. Luckily, one of the leads have all their cars safe from Typhoon Ondoy’s rage in their car showroom. That’s the start of our deal with the car owner from OLX before we went back after 3 days and bought the car.

Of course we have to exercise caution when dealing with them so as to protect our rights as consumers but my good OLX buying experience definitely helped me trust the online marketplace.

When you are always on the graveyard shift, just like most people in the call center industry, you have to take better care of your health. For one thing, you can take some vitamins which can greatly help boost your immune system.

Having a good immune system is essential because studies have shown that working at night weakens our body’s defenses against the common diseases, like the colds. A selection of the essential vitamins and minerals can keep us healthy and at top shape, keeping diseases and other ailments at bay.

One other reason why you should take vitamins is because when we are on the graveyard shift, our eating habits are affected. We often lack the time or the energy (since we spend most of the daytime just sleeping) to prepare healthy meals. Vitamins can help augment that loss of good nutrition, but of course it cannot completely replace a well planned diet.

When you spend 9 hours of graveyard work, five days a week, then you take into serious consideration the quality of your work space. Sadly, there are call centers who only consider the comfort of their agents as just an afterthought.

Here are the top 3 things, in my opinion, that call center agents would love to see incorporated in their cubicles or work stations:

1. More space
Who wants to work in a super cramped cubicle? Of course none. There should be enough leg space to stretch our tired legs as well as more room so that we will not bumped into the person next to us whenever we stretch an arm.

2. Comfortable seat
It will always be a great blessing when you are sitting in a high quality and comfy office chair. Otherwise you will find yourself squiggling around your seat trying to find that optimum sitting position. When your work requires you to be seated most of the time, a good chair should be a priority.

3. The permission to display personal stuff on your work table
Some call center companies, especially with those accounts whose agents share their computers with another shift’s, do not allow much personal belongings to be left and displayed on the work table. It is always a nice thing to have a picture frame of your loved ones displayed in front of you. This is a great stress buster as well as it gives your work space that extra home feeling to it.

When I was a call center agent, we have this private joke about needing some antiaging products after completing a very challenging call with a customer.

That is why we have to control our emotions whenever that ‘moment’ with the customer happens in the call. We have to remember that their frustration is not really directed to you but they express it out of their not-so-good experience with the product or service.

Besides, these anti aging products need some further consultation before you can even use one. So relax, breathe in, breathe out, don’t let a stressful call break your day okay?

Starbucks will soon be closing its 130-seater call center operations in Seattle, Washington in the United States. It was reported that the coffee giant’s call center processes will be transfered Sitel at its Albuquerque, New Mexico branch.

This move is said to be the result of Starbucks’ dedication to providing better quality customer service to its patrons. A Starbucks spokesperson said that by giving Sitel, a global outsourcing company, the job of handling the coffee company’s call center operations, customers will experience better call support with better technology to back it up.

In short, Starbucks sees this latest happening from their company not as a loss, but more of an advancement to their efforts to improve their customer support.

Of course there will always be critics who point out that this could be one of those increasing signs that Starbucks is not as healthy as it used to be.

It is not surprising that some call center agents also need to take some weight gain supplements to look better.

Yes, there are a lot of call center employees who have been keeping some flabs instead of abs, carrying some excess weight. But there are also on the other extreme condition, they’re too skinny that you would mistake them for not eating for days.

Although they already assured you that they also consume the basic meals in a day, they are still open to take some weight gain supplements if that will really be needed to make them look and feel healthier.
