My husband used to work at night shift and we had this talk the other day when I mentioned that some call center agents are into shifting schedules. He said he experienced that for a few months and he actually preferred it over a fixed shift schedule.
He said it makes it easier for him and his body to cope with the night shift work. Especially because he knew that he wouldn’t be on the night shift forever, that after just a couple of weeks he would again be in the morning schedule. It gave him something to look forward to.
And also, he said, that shifting allows him to schedule some stuff that he had to do or could do better on a certain time of the day. When he’s on the night shift, he could plan for something he could do in the morning and vice versa. Shifting schedule made him more flexible.
How about you? If you’re on a call center job, what kind of schedule would you prefer?

I perfer shifting as well. I helps me schedule “quality time” with my wife and kid, and it can surely break the monotony of the job.
I worked at Sykes Asia for almost 3 years. I really hate shifting schedules. It ruined my body clock.
