Gotta Keep Cool

It is a known fact that call center work can sometimes be very tasking and that the agent’s patience can be severely tried at times. That usually happens when he encounters an irate caller who can’t seem to be calmed down no matter what the call center agent says or does.

It has happened to me a number of times in the past when I was still working on the floor as a customer support agent. However there are instances wherein the caller’s requests or complaints are just beyond reason and that as an agent, you have no choice but to try your best to appease the caller and find the next best possible answer to their problems.

How do I keep my cool when I still had that job? Sometimes I take a break either to go to the restroom to freshen up or to grab a bite. Whatever is the way for me to keep my mind off work even if just for a few minutes, I will do it. Because if I keep on receiving irate callers till the end of my shift, I knew I would start to lose my marbles.
