I mean here in the Philippines. I know that in the United States there are already a lot of people working at home as call center agents. In my opinion, this is a lucrative thing for our local call centers to give it a try. Why? Here are some of the reasons that I can think of:
1. I believe it will lower their operation expenses because the company will have to maintain less office space.
2. It will allow people who are reluctant to enter the BPO industry because of safety concerns. There is always a high risk of getting robbed or even killed during the night.
3. More people will be interested in applying for call center positions when they will be asked to work in their homes.
These are just a few good reasons why I believe this set up can work well for call centers. Of course I am no expert and there are other factors to be considered like the level or amount of training needed for these workers and the logistics for their equipment requirements.

It won’t catch on until the infrastructure is able to guarantee reliable internet connections and phone lines. This was discussed during the CCAP Conference back in August.
personally, i think the said set up has both its pros and cons. Nonetheless, I feel that the pros still outweighs the cons.
