Call centers usually have strict rules regarding some behaviors or activities of their employees. Not only about such things as non compete clauses, most are also dead serious when it comes to drug addiction.
Let us be honest, drug addiction chooses no profession and in an industry where the background of its workers are truly varied, there are instances of employees with drug problems finding employment there.
Are call centers doing something about it? I don’t know of any company providing drug rehab, I guess they will just fire such people outright.
Can you spot a drug abuser among your colleagues? What can be the signs? Red eyes? Shaking hands? I’m not really sure myself, all I know is when a work that is already too tasking both physically and mentally like our job in the call centers, if it’s accompanied with drug abuse, the result will surely be disastrous.

I guess, what should call center companies have is a program for their employees to gradually quit smoking. Napapansin ko lang na heavy smokers ang mga nagtatrabaho sa call center at malaking risk ito sa kanilang health. They would surely feel its effects later in life.
Yes, We are having a drug test in our center once a year. then if the employee is positive, he/she can go thru rehab at her own expense then come back in the office after 6 months
Drug addiction is a world wide problem. But still, companies should do their share in helping their employees overcome it.
I had to do a pre-employment drug test to work for Alpine Access. (I passed) I think whether they do that or not, the job is so mentally challenging that I don’t think you could have that problem and do your job correctly.
Well, this is the 1st time I have heard that some BPO companies provide drug for rehab. It’s true that I have seen at some news channels that call centers employees use drug for removing their stress work but that too happens very rare.
