Another Call Center Agent Got Robbed

by admin on June 20, 2009

To my fellow call center employees, let us be extra careful whenever we’re out on the road at night.

The Inquirer.net reported that a call center agent was robbed while she was riding a jeepney on her way home. It happened at around 11pm in Quezon City.

The robbers were able to get her backpack containing 2 cellphones and some identification cards. The police were able to arrest the suspects but the stolen items were not recovered.

Cops were able to act fast but the suspects were quicker in dispensing of their loot.

While nobody is safe in the metropolis even during in broad daylight, let us still be extra careful especially at night when we’re out there either going to or from the office.

You really can’t be 100% safe. ANYWHERE. That’s why I suggested to my cousin to select the 10 pm to 7 am shift, rather the very early morning shift. At least she can go to work early before the shift and get off at a much safer time.

Some thing needs to be done to make it safer for agents working at nights.

I was once a victim of a robbery in an FX also in Quezon City. This is really one of the hazards of working in a call center. I just hope that they can increase of police visibility in the area especially during night time.

i had my own share of this very unfortunate and sad experience with robbers. for the past five years, i’ve was robbed twice. considering the frequency of robbery in our country, i consider myself lucky still.

but i suggest everyone should travel light as possible.

I wish the persons who did the robbing would consider getting a real job for a change. Maybe these individuals will be out of commission for a while and will be able to think about their stupidity! I’m thankful to know that no one was hurt. Next time they might not be so fortunate. You be careful yourself!

I agree with Beau, local government should take action or any from the law enforcement…
