After Shift 'Shopping'

by admin on May 13, 2009

I know the value of time but my call center work made me appreciate it further.

If you have read some of my call center tips you will see the post that I made on how to pay your bills in the bank for only five minutes or less. Now I will share another tip.

That is to save your energy, gas and time by buying items in wholesale or in bulk. I usually plan ahead and use the time after my shift for this activity. That’s when I go to the nearest warehouse grocery store and buy these supplies good for the next few weeks.

This makes me enjoy my weekends more by just staying at home with my family. How about you? Do you also buy items in bulk?

I do whatever it takes to save myself some time and avoid extra hassle.I pay my meralco and smartbro bills at BDO at the same time that I make a monthly deposit to my daughter’s savings account.it’s fast and convenient, having 3 transactions under 1 roof.as to my water bill, somebody pays it for me,lol.
i also make it a point to buy toiletries and food supplies good for a week or two.i find it more economical to buy in bulk in supermarkets than “tingi” in sari-sari stores.

Buying in bulk is indeed wiser and practical. As long as you have the budget wehehe ;)

I shop in two week increments. It is just easier, and saves me from impulse buying.

I used to buy in bulk alot, especially when my boys were younger. Unfortunately here in Cairns we don’t have bulk food stores, or bulk bins for food – apparently something to do with hygiene – duh…!

I pay all bills online, have done for years – went to the bank the other day actually to bank some cash, I apologised to the cashier because I couldn’t find any deposit slips…she laughed and said they don’t use them anymore, she just needed my card and the money…hey presto!

I try and stock up on stuff when it is on sale. Just came back from the store where they had some great sales on BBQ sauce for 59 cents, Salad dressing for 88 cents and Frozen French Fries and Hash browns for 99 cents. When I see deals I stock up with a lot of the items. That way over time, I will always have stuff around. I think it saves time and money in the long run.

I still try to pay my bills personally. I tried paying my bills online, before. Bad experience.

I try not to buy in bulk because I’m a college student. I gave it a goo last semester and it was painful to have to eat the extra food that I was tired of lol. I’ll probably give it a go again once I’m nolonger living in a dorm setting.
