Who says call center operations isn’t affected by Pacquiao – Hatton fight?
For sure, call centers played a big role for this event to happen (which means more calls to answer). Let me tell you why.
Travel
Call centers who have travel accounts have to answer calls to book the flight of people going to Las Vegas to watch the fight. I can just imagine how many people around the world booked their flights over the phone for this event. 
Accommodation
Most of these travellers need a place to stay, so they need to place a call to book their accommodations and reserve car rental service. Of course, they would prefer to book the nearest hotel for convenience.
Banking
I do not want these things to happen to them while they’re too excited to watch the fight. But what if their card was declined while paying for the memorabilia items they bought from the store? How about when (God forbid) their ATM cards were lost while they’re in transit. Or let’s say they just want to know their account balance before their purchase, these may prompt them to call their phone banking service to raise these concerns.
Entertainment / Media
For those who would rather enjoy the moment while sitting comfortably in the couch (of their homes), they may still have to place a call. For what? So they can purchase pay-per-view and watch that event without the string of TV ads in between telecast.
Now I outlined some of the reasons that Pacquiao-Hatton fight may have caused an increase in the calls that my fellow call center agents received in the past few days.

I wonder what happened to the rest who watched it in PPV. Do you think they felt short changed out of what happened? The fight lasted just for two rounds.
