Flat Shoes for Call Center Trainers

by Call Center Gal on March 22, 2009

I’ve always been a ‘flats’ fan since I became a call center trainer.

And why not? It’s not that easy for a trainer to stand all the time and move around the training room wearing heels. That’s feet suicide. ;)

That’s why I’ve been using flat shoes since then. I’ve been complaining of these (hurting feet) instances to my fiance before. When I stand for more than eight hours, my feet really hurts, I sometimes feel like some veins on my feet are literally stretching that I sometimes need to pause so I can rest my feet for a minute or two.

I admit that I am more for comfort over style. I’d rather be comfortable wearing something that positively affects my training attitude. Besides, you cannot really hide it if your feet hurts because it will really show that you’re not comfortable moving around and you find it hard to show that pearly whites. :)

I admit. I am more obsessed with looks rather than comfort. The consequence? Really “veiny” feet. Thank God the vanity spared me my legs. I suggest NEVER (as in NEVER) wet your feet when you get home tired from work. Save those heels, soon-to-be bride ;)

I was recently laid off from my call center job, but when I had to go down and do training I also went for cute flats vs. heels. I learned my lesson after a few times.

“I’d rather be comfortable wearing something that positively affects my training attitude.”

Great point. A trainer has to be comfortable because confidence flows from there. And, as we trainers know, confidence is king.

Keep up the good work.
