No to Call Center Pantry Food

by admin on March 18, 2009

I will not eat that pantry food in our call center.

At least for today.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing wrong with the food that we eat in the pantry. That caterer won the majority vote when they conducted a food tasting for call center employees. But you can’t blame me if I would take an occasional ‘breather’ in buying food from them.

Predictable Menu

There are times when we play a little guessing game as to what the menu will be for the shift. So far, I usually predict what meals are up on sale. I would love to see something new in their menu in the coming days. That will really keep me coming back for sure instead of settling on the fast food meals sold outside of the building. I sometimes envy people working in Emerald Avenue in Ortigas, for they have the chance to feast on what Banchetto has to offer every Saturday morning.

Expensive Meals

I can stretch my hard earned peso to enjoy a good meal, but it’s not payday everyday so most of the time I just brown bag to work. Lately, I just realized that I liked the food better when I bring my own “baon” rather than settle with the usual pantry food. Plus, I can save more of my money, enough to pay the bills come next billing cycle.

I will still be buying their meals packed in microwavable plastic containers next time. But for now, I would rather get a hold of my home cooked meal, works best for me :)

How about you? Do you always brown bag to work or you also rely on buying pantry food once in a while?

I would never eat it and I don’t know why the other agents eat it.

About the Banchetto. I’m not really a big fun of it because I still have yet to enjoy a really delicious meal there.

But the quite festive atmosphere it gives, in my opinion, is it’s plus factor.
:)

And by the way, I do eat in our pantry even though the food is really not that great. It’s just that I’m too lazy to go out of the building and eat somewhere else.

Haven’t tried Banchetto yet. Have you tried Salcedo Saturday Market at Salcedo Park in Makati? Part of the park is converted every Saturday morning until early afternoon into a marketplace filled with sumptuous meals from various entrepreneurs, fresh produce, homemade delicacies and native specialties.
