Banchetto at Ortigas

by admin on March 1, 2009

Call center people who have offices in Ortigas especially along the stretch of Emerald Avenue, look forward to Saturday mornings. Why? It’s because of the Banchetto.

As early as 12am on Saturdays, food stalls are already put up and within minutes hungry people will be marching in and go stall-hopping looking at the sumptuous feast laid before their eyes.

My boyfriend and I have frequented the Banchetto a number of times. He loves ordering inihaw na pusit while I don’t repeat the food that I had tasted there in the past. I love trying new tastes and you can definitely do that at the Banchetto.

I used to remember that the Banchetto stretched a bit longer, reaching even up to the Wynsum building. But now it’s a bit shorter, occupying the opposite street in front of the Jollibee building and the Ortigas Park.

Well, there’s not much to complain really, as the great variety of food and tastes are still there.

Haven’t tried Banchetto yet. Have you tried Salcedo Saturday Market at Salcedo Park in Makati? Part of the park is converted every Saturday morning until early afternoon into a marketplace filled with sumptuous meals from various entrepreneurs, fresh produce, homemade delicacies and native specialties.
