Have you ever attended a town hall meeting? If you’re an employee of a multinational company, chances are you already attended one during your stay.

In the call center, a town hall meeting is more than just a general assembly of call center employees. Let me share to you five reasons why you should not miss one.

1. You should be the first to know about company updates.

Any movement in the company will have an impact on its operations and can affect your job too. That’s why it is best to know the information first hand from the head honchos.

2. You should meet the people in the know.

Town hall meetings also bring out the key people in the company to share their current achievements. Take advantage of the opportunity to know them. Associate the names with the faces, who knows, you might be working closely with them in the coming days.

3. You should use the opportunity to clarify company related issues with them.

Intelligent, sensible questions will always be entertained by these people who are authorized to speak on company’s behalf. Before attending one, know the agenda of the town hall meeting first so you can think of the best questions to ask. Always remember that your questions might be the same concerns other employees have in mind, so don’t be afraid to go ahead, grab the mic and ask it.

4. You should take a quick break from your work routine.

Who says town hall meetings are all but serious talk? These meetings can be fun too. Other companies extend these to movie screenings and small parties afterwards. So take a quick break from your hard work and attend one next time okay?

5. Other reasons to attend one?

I would like to know your thoughts on this. Is there something that you would like to add on the list? Feel free to let us know through the comment section.
