A lot of services that "recycle" old computer waste really just sell it overseas where they pay people a couple bucks a day to take them apart, melt out the metals, etc. The conditions are bad and unhealthy. The most common problem with windows slowing down is usually registry issues. In our experience, using that program for weekly maintanence has proven priceless. Your computer may also be getting bogged down with spyware. There are a few free spyware programs out there including Spybot S&D and Anti Malware. Both are free and both are very effective.
