StarTek Closes Regina Call Center, Opens in Jonesboro

by Call Center Gal on December 8, 2008

When one call center closes, another one opens.

Just like what happened to StarTek Inc., it was all over the call center news that it will close its call center in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

StarTek noted that “persistent difficulty” to recruit suitable work force (as required by their clients) is the reason for the decision.

Their Regina call center site will shut down on the first quarter.

That’s the bad news. Let’s get to know the good news this time.

If its Regina’s peoples loss, then definitely not for Jonesboro folks. The company just opened a call center in Arkansas while they also started their operations here in Makati, Philippines.

I hope that StarTek will be here to stay, well, long enough to keep the jobs of our fellow call center workers.
