Rickrolling Into 80s Memories
My boyfriend yesterday declared to me that he now has a new favorite singer. When he told me that, I thought he would name an artist that has just been famous in the past five years. To my surprise, he said it’s Rick Astley.
He said it all started when he got Rickrolled thrice last week. The first time was when he thought that the video he clicked on YouTube was about a Kobe Bryant highlight film, only to surprise him with Rick Astley’s music video of his hit “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
That fortuitous event led him to watching other Astley videos such as “Together Forever” and “Cry For Help”.
He said it brought back very fond memories of his childhood in the 80s.
