Callcentergal's First WiFi Experience in Davao

by Call Center Gal on June 30, 2008

I just had my first attempt to use my ASUS Eee PC here in Davao. I immediately went to the lobby and tried to connect to the hotel’s WiFi.

At first I was happy to see the three connections available in the area. I tried one, entered the password (the receptionist provided me with one) and tried to establish connection.

Three minutes had passed when the active screen showed pending connection. The receptionist told me to try the second WiFi access. Same thing, the pending connection status was displayed on the active screen and the connection attempt was unsuccessful. I was about to try the third available access then but one of the front desk personnel told me that the server was ‘down’.

All these things happened while my boyfriend waited for my confirmation through sms so we can chat online.

I was a bit disappointed about what happened. It’s better to try the WiFi access outside instead so I checked on my printed list and went out. Thanks to Bo’s Coffee Club. I was already online even before the smiling barista served my freeze drink.

I observed that Bo’s Coffee Club was a home to a lot of laptop users in Davao City. So much that I was lucky enough to get a seat (shared space with another laptop user) that time.

With that experience, I should try other WiFi Hot Spots in the next few days (including other Bo’s Coffee Club Branches). It’s better to be (blogging) safe than sorry.

Till next post,
